Gold Ridge Fire Protection District Candidate Forum
Open to the Public Free
  • When: 5:15 – 7:30 PM (Pacific time)
  • What it is: Come meet the candidates running for seats on the Gold Ridge Fire Protection District Board of Directors, the board that will decide how the newly available Measure H funds get allocated in our expanded Gold Ridge fire prevention district. Four seats are up for election, and seven candidates have confirmed attendance.
  • Good to know: Be there and let your voice and ideas be heard

  • When: 5:30 – 8:00 PM (Pacific time), Tataki demo from 6:30 – 6:45 PM
  • Bring: A dish to share and your own arts & crafts project
  • What it is: An evening potluck and craft night celebrating the arrival of fall, with a live Tataki demo from Lauren McSweeny in the middle of the evening
  • Good to know: All proceeds from donations go toward supporting the Grange rebuild

Yoga & Tai Chi with Vicki Morse

  • 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM — Yoga 101: Traditional yoga taught with an emphasis on alignment, balance, and a deeper understanding of the intention of the asana (pose). Good for a seasoned practitioner looking to refine each pose, as well as a curious beginner — no previous experience necessary
  • 12:30 – 1:30 PM — Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention: Based on Sun-style tai chi, modified to make it accessible for all. Drop-in format, though each week builds on the previous week's lesson. Can be done standing, sitting, or a combination — suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. No previous experience necessary

  • You'll leave with: Your own beautiful arrangement made with fresh, local flowers in a reusable vase, plus a tip sheet on how to recreate your own designs for the upcoming holidays
  • Good to know: This is a fundraiser for the Hessel Grange Hall. Class limited to 20 participants. Cost includes tabletop vase and all flowers: $50 for members, $65 for non-members
